We highly recommend this fuse bypass switch if you need to deactivate a fuse when you flat tow. It's a huge pain to pull the fuse by hand every time, and you risk losing or damaging it. With this kit, you just have to flip a switch.

Technically, it is optional, but if you need to pull a fuse on your vehicle when you flat tow, this kit will make your life so much easier. Instead of wedging yourself down on the floorboard and fishing a tiny fuse out from under your dashboard every time you flat tow (not to mention putting it back again), you can just flip a switch. No dead battery, no lost fuse, no damaged fuse, no back pain.
When the switch is in the drive position, the fuse will be active and your car will function normally. When you're ready to flat tow, you'll flip the switch to the tow setting and deactivate the fuse. This allows you to tow your vehicle without the battery draining.
Installing this fuse bypass switch really only takes a few steps:
1. Open the fuse access panel and remove the designated fuse
2. Connect the end of the wiring harness to the fuse socket
3. Mount the switch in your dashboard
4. Insert the pulled fuse into the fuse holder

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Blue Ox fuse bypass switch for towed vehicles. Now, this is going to work with ATC-ATO fuses, and this fuse disconnect system is going to prep your vehicle to be towed. This bypasses your towed car's fuses, so you can tow your vehicle without draining its battery, providing a simple alternative to removing fuses every time you tow, and it's going to store the fuse so that you won't lose it. So this is going to install pretty quickly, and easily, and permanently.
You'll remove the fuses from your car's fuse box and install this fuse bypass in their place. And then you'll put the fuses in the fuse bypass fuse holders, as you can see here, and I'll pop this one open as well. So they have these really nice compartments where you can store the fuses with a fuse cap to protect those fuses. Now, you'll mount this near your fuse box, and this is going to maintain the functionality of high-end fuses when it's switched on. You'll just flip the switch to drive position and drive like normal.
It overrides the fuses when it's switched off. You'll just flip the switch to tow position and the instructions will show you how to mount this so you know which position is which. But it's gonna be an easy install. It's going to be an easy operation, it's gonna be very convenient to use, and you'll get a simple instruction sheet here to guide you through that installation and operation process. I will not be able to try and install this item in my tow vehicle until mid-April and see if it works as advertised on-line and in videos. I just hope I ordered the right length to fit my vehicle.

The switch was for a mini fuse car, mine has the squished mini fuses and took forever to get the wire prongs into the fuse block. I have a 2010 CRV and was disappointed, but it works for now, (until the prongs fall out)
The Blue Ox Accessory Kit for the Aventa LX Tow Bar, the extra (2) Diodes, the Fuse By-Pass Switch, the Aventa LX Tow Bar and the Patriot Brake Unit all arrived in tact and in a timely manner. I really appreciate the help in defining what I need to tow my '09 Yukon behind our new Newmar Dutch Star. So far the wiring is complete - and works! I hope to have the Tow Bar hardware done this week - i'll try and get a picture. Thanks again!
I installed your device in a Buick Terraza to disengage the power sliding door control when the intermittent alarm sounds while driving. It saves me from having to pull over and pull the fuse. Thank you for your product.
This product works great for the purpose it is intended. Unfortunately, removing fuse #34 also disabled my 12v accessory and made it impossible to use my Blue Ox Patriot II. Weird because there are separate fuses for those. Therefore I have to return it.
Once again wiring too short for a 2014 Honda CRV to install it where there video shows also it was missing the connector to the fuse block. Wasted tiem and money splicing longer wires in.
Purchased and installed in my 2010 Chevy HHR. Was an easy install, directions are very clear. This allows me to leave the key in the correct position while the vehicle is under tow by my RV and not drain the battery. However, I later determined that this meant my HHR brake lights would not operate when the brakes are applied by my Brake-Buddy system. I did install wiring from the RV to the brake lights of the HHR but that did not run the third/middle brake light. So I ultimately decided to install a system that connects my RV power to a charger on the HHR battery so I could leave the power on and have all my brake lights operating. As it turns out I could have done without this item. So it would be a choice of this item or an RV powered charging system depending upon how you would like your brake lights to operate.
Easy to install with great directions. Etrailer has great Customer Service even after the sale. Perfect for what I needed....now I don't have to take out the fuse every time I tow my car behind the Motorhome! Great experience with etrailer.
Pins are a pain to keep in while installing. Should have a dummy fuse to plug in with the wires connected to the pins. Also, the fuses don't match the ones they are bypassing in my car. I use micro fuses in my panel and the fuse holders take mini fuses.
The concept is GREAT however and a real time saver removing the time spent on your knees in the dirt fishing around to find the two fuses you need to pull out of the fuse panel and wearing the fuse panel more and wore with each pull.
Fuse Bypass switch works great no more dead batteries, I have used it many times in the last year and I can pull my Honda CRV 8hrs or more and battery stays charged. very easy to install. took less than 1 hour to install

I have installed the Custom Tail light warning and the Trailer connector and it was very easy. I ran the wiring through inside the FIT wiring and it was very easy. Love the way everything snaps together.
I can't wait to install the base plate, trailer hitch receiver as well as the ByPass switch.

sed on my 2016 Ford C-Max Energi to stop pulling fuse 67 the Passport fuse to reset the MY FORD MOBILE APP and regain control over charging the battery.
( I charge my vehicle at 1 in the Morning ). Pulling that fuse 4 or more times a year to get things working was a real pain not to mention removing the cover each time. Since Ford never resolved the problem
with the communication issue this was a great fix. Thanks etrailer and Bule Ox this is a great work around.
Purchased this harness not for a trailer, but for my failing BCM (body control module). My car's headlights remain on even after I leave it. The solution was to put in the headlight fuses every night and unplug them at every stop, or pay upwards of $xxxx for the dealer to replace it (dealer specific part I could not replace it myself as my keys needed to be synched with new module.) Being right in the middle of the pandemic and just before losing my job, spending that kind of cash wasn't an option.
The solution in the end was this $xx harness. The whole unit stays snug under my dash and I cut out a hole for the switch. Every night it's just one extra switch I have to flip instead of getting upside down on the ground and pull fuses. Payed for itself. Very, very happy.
